3 R’s- Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Thanks again City of Napa and Napa Recycling and Waste Services for recognizing the Napa Valley Wine Train for its 2008 recycling achievements!
The Napa Valley Wine Train diverts 24 cubic yards of waste each week through our aggressive reduction and recycling efforts. During the winter of 2009, we also introduced a cork recycling program through ReCork America. Our corks will be re-used as cork flooring, building insulation, and various other materials.
Napa Recycling and Waste Services provide recycling, garbage, and yard waste collection services in the City of Napa and southern unincorporated Napa County. City staff inspects dumpsters periodically to analyze waste streams of businesses, apartments, buildings, and schools. The companies who diverted the most waste from the landfill were recognized for their efforts. The Wine Train won a sculpture made of recycled glass presented by Mayor, Jill Techel. We also received recognition from our State Legislature signed by Assembly Member, Noreen Evans and State Senator, Patricia Wiggins.
We are proud to receive this award for two consecutive years. The Napa Valley Wine Train continues to look for new and innovative ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
