Local People, World Class Company.

Everyone has a story, and the interesting and amazing employees of the Napa Valley Wine Train are no exception. Different types of people have come together to help keep this irreplaceable vintage train on the rails. We have quilters and community activists, budding art photographers and tender mothers; there are mechanics so good they can nail Jello to a wall, and call center agents with the patience of Job. They make coming to work a pleasure. They make the Wine Train a world-class operation.
We would like you to get to know them. Allow us to introduce Andrea Guzman, and Carlos Rosales.
Andrea Guzman

Job Title: Promotions and Partnership Manager
Marital Status: Married for 7½ years
Community Activities: Volunteer coordinator for the Napa Valley Marathon
Lives in Santa Rosa in a co-housing community
Favorite time to ride the train: "I love riding the dinner trains in the summer, because the sun is setting when the Train is running."
Andrea is one of our employees who is always on the run, sometimes quite literally. She is frequently sprinting out of the office towards trade shows, different concierges around Northern California, and sometimes even to run ½ marathons. She's been here for more than two years, and hasn't stopped moving yet.
We are lucky to have Andrea. Well, it was a little bit of luck, and some effort on the company's part. When Andrea was looking for a job more than two years ago, we actually sought her out. At first, she turned us down, saying that she didn't think that we were environmentally friendly enough for her. For Andrea, working for a responsible company with a strong moral code was her number one priority. It was important to her (and still is) that she work for a company that she believed in. We didn't want to take no for an answer, so we set up a meeting to showcase the unique characteristics of our company. We told her about our 100% Compressed Natural Gas Engine, our different recycling awards and our community donation program. The meeting ended, and she's been with us ever since.
Andrea loves that the Wine Train has given her the opportunity to make friends with people from all over the world. She says that even though she has never left North America, she has traveled the globe through the people she has met.

Carlos moved to Napa three years ago for the love of a woman. Shortly thereafter, he began working at the Napa Valley Wine Train in the kitchen He then began working as a Reservations Agent. Carlos loved his job and he loved his woman. So after going steady with both for more than 2 ½ years, he decided to propose to her on board.
One night Carlos and his girlfriend made reservations in the Wine Train's Vista Dome car for dinner. After enjoying a glass of sparkling wine and a romantic meal, they decided to stroll through the train. They relaxed for a moment in the lounge car until Jerome, the Maitre'd, let them know that dessert was being served. Once back in the dome, the server handed them the dessert menu, which read, "Genevieve M. Di Giulio will you marry me and be a part of my life until death do us part." She lifted up her napkin and placed in on her lap, revealing a small ring box which had been hidden on the table. Needless to say, she said yes.
Carlos is now working in the Wine Train's Accounting Department. He is currently attending Napa Valley College and working towards a degree in Business Management. After he completes his degree, he wants to work for a winery or run his own small business.
