Diana Caceres Celebrating 20 years with the Wine Train

In celebration of 20 years, we have six dedicated employees who have been with us since the very beginning. Over the past weeks, we have been sharing their fondest Wine Train memories as they also celebrate their 20 year anniversaries working with the Wine Train.

Introducing: Diana Caceres. Diana is responsible for purchasing and receiving for our entire operation. She is very diligent and organized, and is instrumental in making sure that the product has arrived fresh and ready to go. Executive Chef Kelly Macdonald says, “Diana is extremely meticulous and knowledgeable. We work well together in making sure that I receive the product fresh for all of our Wine Train customers”

When she first started with us, Diana was working on the train and loved seeing the customers who returned over and over again. Some of these people who rode many times were from different countries. A favorite memory of Diana’s is about a Swiss Tour Director who gave the staff Swiss pocketknives as gifts. Diana still uses that particular knife today when she is cutting down boxes. This tour director used to get the entire car singing up and down the Napa Valley.

Diana also has many fond memories of our founders, Mr. and Mrs. DeDomenico. Diana reminisced, “Mrs. D was one of the most elegant ladies I have ever met. She had the best taste in the world.”

Over these 20 years, the Wine Train has enjoyed the loyalty, dedication, and hard work of many people; but we have a special place in our hearts for those individuals who have committed decades of their life to keeping the Wine Train on the tracks.
