Fall in Napa Valley

September 22, 2018 / History & Culture, Art & Culture

Napa Valley in the fall has to be seen to be believed. With the harvest season in full swing, grape vines and foliage begin to change colors—painting the entire region in yellows and reds. While the natural beauty alone of the Napa Valley makes a fall visit a must, the region is also bustling with events to attend and wines to enjoy.

If you’re planning a visit to Napa Valley this fall, let our guide help you make the most of your experience.

Fall for the Beautiful Weather

If Napa Valley’s fall weather could be summed up in one word, it would be “Perfect.” The average temperature in fall hovers around 80 degrees (though you’ll still find plenty of days in the 90s), then when the sun goes down, you’ll experience beautiful nights typically between 45 and 55 degrees. Such wonderfully temperate weather combined with fewer crowds make fall an ideal time to visit us here in Wine Country.

This Meet the Maker event begins with a 3-hour tour of Napa Valley from the comforts of the Wine Train’s Private Reserve rail car. During your tour, you’ll be treated to a 4-course gourmet dinner with a distinctive selection of Trefethen wines and tasting notes from the winemakers. To top it all off, third-generation winemaker Lorenzo Trefethen will be on hand to share priceless stories from his family’s half-century in Napa. If you’ve ever wanted a behind-the-scenes look at life in the heart of Napa, this is the fall event for you.
