Customer Reviews

Well done!!!

Staff from start to finish, at entry, on the train, even the gift shop, all outgoing and helpful. Well done!!! Just an aside, we did the French Laundry on 2/10. The “experience” was great, but …. if I was offered the chance to do another FL dinner or the Wine Train (especially if the 7-course with pairings is available), I would choose the Wine Train. The food I found to be great — every course.

Lovely & Relaxing

I’m glad we did this on first day of our Napa visit. Gives you a good overview of the area. Our waiter Rick was wonderful.

Milestone Birthday

I’ve never done a dinner train before but it’s always been on my bucket list of things to do. So for my 40th birthday I decided to take a leap and go on a special dinner train with my husband. They blew my expectations out of the water. Staff was amazing and made me feel very special throughout the experience. The food was fabulous and the experience overall was wonderful. We spent the extra money to be able to be seated in the dome car of the train, and that made the experience even more special. I would highly recommend seating in the Dome to anyone who is interested in going on a dinner train. You won’t be disappointed.

Experience Wine Country with Dinner

As part of our tour of Napa wine country we booked a dinner excursion on The Napa Valley Wine Train. The train station is nice. The staff explained the boarding process, and all went smoothly. We were seated in a sky view dining car. Our server was very professional and friendly. Throughout the ride she kept us informed as to points of interest and history of the area.

Delightful Experience

Our vista dome dinner journey was delightful. The hard working staff provided friendly, yet professional service throughout, and the food was excellent, with a nice variety of offerings for each course. Our server, Johana, was amazing, providing personalized service while juggling double duty giving interesting and informative commentary for the entire car throughout our journey. A fun and worthwhile experience.

Fantastic Experience

This train experience was fantastic! Service was amazing, views were amazing, and can’t wait to go back again and experience a different car and ride. Thanks so much Amisha!

Excellent Journey Through Napa Valley

Although a bit pricey, the Wine Train was an excellent choice for part of our Napa Valley weekend. We rode the Vistadome car and it was an good choice for us, as the views were better than we imagine would have been on the other dining cars. The car was immaculately kept and appeared authentic for its time period. The running commentary on the sights in the Valley were good and unobtrusive. Our waitperson, Dino, was superb, explaining to us how each of the menu choices could easily be made vegetarian/vegan. Food was excellent and the beverage choices were sufficient for us, although we are not major wine drinkers. Overall, the experience was great and a wonderful way to see the Valley and the wineries along the route, especially without the hassle of dealing with the traffic along CA-29. Three-hour journey seemed to be an appropriate length of time for the round trip
