Customer Reviews

Well done!!!

Staff from start to finish, at entry, on the train, even the gift shop, all outgoing and helpful. Well done!!! Just an aside, we did the French Laundry on 2/10. The “experience” was great, but …. if I was offered the chance to do another FL dinner or the Wine Train (especially if the 7-course with pairings is available), I would choose the Wine Train. The food I found to be great — every course.

Lovely & Relaxing

I’m glad we did this on first day of our Napa visit. Gives you a good overview of the area. Our waiter Rick was wonderful.

Vista Dome

Excellent staff and service on board of Vista Dome Train. Views were beautiful, explanations provided were very good!

Dome Experience

Not just a three hour train ride but a great meal, excellent service and a nice wine list. Well worth it if you just like a relaxing gourmet meal.

I’m a 5-Timer!

I have booked the Wine Train during each of my visits to Napa. I’ve done both the lunch and dinner trips, but this was my first Vista Dome experience. We booked it to celebrate our niece’s 23rd birthday. I will say that the price made us pucker a bit, but the experience was amazing. The staff is friendly and professional and the food is always amazing. I NEVER have a bad time on the Wine Train and I will book it again on our next trip to Wine Country!

An Elegant Experience

The Napa Valley Wine Train is a Lifetime memory. My wife and I were fortunate to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary in Napa Valley. My wife planned this part of our trip and I’m so happy she did. We did the Vista Dome Lunch and it was incredible. The comfort and privacy of the Vista Dome makes the elegant experience. The service was fantastic; I appreciated the tour guide letting us know historic facts of buildings, people, and the vineyards. Every course of our gourmet meal was perfectly prepared. I don’t drink but my wife enjoyed the wine. If you want to create a lifetime memory take the time; and invest the money to have a first class experience it was worth every penny.

Fantastic Experience

This train experience was fantastic! Service was amazing, views were amazing, and can’t wait to go back again and experience a different car and ride. Thanks so much Amisha!

Excellent Journey Through Napa Valley

Although a bit pricey, the Wine Train was an excellent choice for part of our Napa Valley weekend. We rode the Vistadome car and it was an good choice for us, as the views were better than we imagine would have been on the other dining cars. The car was immaculately kept and appeared authentic for its time period. The running commentary on the sights in the Valley were good and unobtrusive. Our waitperson, Dino, was superb, explaining to us how each of the menu choices could easily be made vegetarian/vegan. Food was excellent and the beverage choices were sufficient for us, although we are not major wine drinkers. Overall, the experience was great and a wonderful way to see the Valley and the wineries along the route, especially without the hassle of dealing with the traffic along CA-29. Three-hour journey seemed to be an appropriate length of time for the round trip
